My best friend is the victim of this story. Her husband lost his job but because she has been with the company she works with for a long time, her district manager gave her husband a job at another location. While he was working there he began having an affair with a 22 year old co worker. It came to the attention of some of the other managers and her husband left the company telling her that it was because he had been promised more money and a better position.
She supported him, even when a friend came to her and told her she knew it was happening she refused to believe that the man she’d been with since she was 15 would cheat on her.
For the last year she has been working all the overtime she can get in order to support their family while he looked for another job. She told me that he was going through a depression and had been spending time with a guy he went to highschool with. Yeah, no, 22 year old.
They have almost lost their home, she has fallen apart more than once, especially at Christmas when she wasn’t sure she would be able to give her son a Christmas. They’ve borrowed enormous amounts of money from family and friends to keep them on track and all this time he’s been spending it with this girl.
A week ago, she gets a facebook message from this girl telling her everything thats gone one. The story of when it “ended” differs from her to him. The point was it was over. The girl wont accept this and has been messaging and texting my friend like they are friends. She asks her things like “was he sleeping with you while he was sleeping with me?” and just shoots her texts messages saying “HI! I miss you!”
She told her that her husband said he loved her, that they were going to run away together, and if this was all that was going on I would just hold her hand and help her get through it but then she did the unforgivable.
She’s asking about her son. Talking about how sweet he is. This needs to stop. The affair is over. Confronting my friend served no purpose. The girl doesn’t know my friend so she didn’t tell her out of guilt. She’s not pregnant, she doesn’t have a desease, She just wants to cause trouble. She was hoping that by telling her that she would kick him out and he’d be free.
Saddest part is, everyone at her company knows about it, and the girl still works there. They all knew about it when it happened and her husband was talked to about it and because of confidentiality NO ONE that knew her told her. Her neck is stiff from holding her head high!
